Chittagong Association of Canada was unofficially founded in 1999. Organized by Mr. Kafil Uddin Parvez, the inaugural meeting was held at Canadian Home Computers located in 2986 Danforth Avenue. The association was officially registered in 2003 with Mr. Elias Miah as the elected President. The current President is Mr. Almgir Hakim and the Secretary is Mr. Shebu Chowdary.
- Assist new immigrants with information, guidance and services to better adjust with the Canadian life
- Facilitate opportunities for Bengali-Canadians in Canada to meet and connect with each other .
- Practice and promote the rich Bengali cultural of music, dance, art and fashion to keep them alive through the future generation of Bengali-Canadians.
- Improve the living conditions in Bangladesh for the citizens in poverty. Steps to achieve this include sending relief after a disaster, facilitate in better education and to financially assist in commencement of marriages to those who cannot afford it.
